At AECC, we are committed to helping students achieve their study-abroad goals through expert education consultancy. We want every student to feel confident when engaging our services, and this Return and Refund Policy outlines the terms under which refunds may be requested for the various services we offer. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing any paid services or packages through our website or at our offices.

Overview

AECC provides both complimentary and paid services. The majority of our education consultancy offerings, including initial counselling sessions, university shortlisting, application guidance, and visa advisory support, are provided free of charge to students. We earn our revenue through partnerships with educational institutions rather than from the students we serve. However, certain specialised services carry a fee, and this policy addresses the refund conditions that apply to those paid engagements.

Because our services are professional consultancy and educational support services rather than physical goods, traditional return policies do not apply. Instead, this policy focuses on the circumstances under which we will issue full or partial refunds for fees paid.

Free Services

Our core consultancy services are offered at no cost to students. These include initial education counselling sessions where our advisers assess your academic background and career aspirations, university and course recommendations tailored to your profile, guidance on preparing application documents such as personal statements and CVs, submission of applications to partner institutions on your behalf, general visa application guidance and document checklist preparation, and scholarship identification based on your academic merit and financial circumstances.

Since no payment is collected for these services, no refund applies. If you are dissatisfied with the quality of any complimentary service, we encourage you to contact us directly so that we can address your concerns and, where possible, assign an alternative counsellor to your case.

Paid Services and Refund Conditions

AECC offers certain premium services for a fee. These typically include standardised test preparation courses such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, GRE, and SAT coaching programmes, premium application review packages that involve detailed editing and feedback on personal statements and supporting documents, and specialised relocation and accommodation placement services where we arrange housing on your behalf before your departure.

Test preparation courses: If you have enrolled in a test preparation course and wish to cancel, you may request a full refund within seven calendar days of your enrolment date, provided you have not attended more than one session or accessed more than ten percent of the online course materials. After this initial period, or once you have participated in multiple sessions, we will issue a prorated refund based on the proportion of the course that remains undelivered. No refund will be issued once more than fifty percent of the course sessions have been completed or the corresponding online materials have been accessed.

Premium application review packages: If you cancel a premium application review package before our editors have commenced work on your documents, you are entitled to a full refund. Once editorial work has begun, we will assess the proportion of work completed and may issue a partial refund for the undelivered portion. No refund is available after the final reviewed documents have been delivered to you.

Accommodation placement services: Refunds for accommodation placement depend on the stage of the process. If you cancel before we have confirmed a booking with a housing provider, a full refund will be issued. If a booking has already been confirmed, refund eligibility will depend on the cancellation terms of the accommodation provider, and any non-recoverable deposits or cancellation fees charged by the provider will be deducted from your refund.

Refund Process

To request a refund, please follow these steps. First, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Refund Request" followed by your full name. In the body of your email, include your full name, the service you purchased, the date of purchase, the amount paid, and a brief explanation of why you are requesting a refund. Our team will acknowledge your request within two business days and will review the details of your case.

We aim to reach a decision on all refund requests within ten business days of receiving your email. If your refund is approved, the credited amount will be returned to your original payment method within fourteen business days. Please note that your bank or payment provider may take additional time to process the credit to your account.

If your refund request is declined, we will provide a clear explanation of the reasons. You may appeal the decision by responding to the same email thread with any additional information that supports your case.

Exceptions

Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances: where a student fails to attend scheduled sessions without providing at least twenty-four hours advance notice on two or more occasions, where a student provides false or misleading information that affects the delivery of our services, where a visa application is refused for reasons unrelated to the quality of our guidance (such as incomplete documentation provided by the student or decisions made by immigration authorities based on individual risk assessment), or where an educational institution declines an application for reasons outside our control, including changes to entry requirements or programme capacity after the application was submitted.

Force majeure events, including natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control that prevent us from delivering services, may affect refund eligibility. In such cases, we will work with affected students to reschedule services or offer credit toward future services where a cash refund is not feasible.
